I tried to search, but could not find anything.

Last night while moving snow I experienced a issue with my BX2370 (approximately 110 hours), which I have not experienced before. Intermittently I would have loss of power under load (IE going forward, reverse, operating the loader, or 3 point).

I should note that I did have to fuel up (i have not used any fuel additive) while snowing and they may have been some snow that got it). Also tractor is sitting outside at the moment (new machines taking up and junk taking up to much space in the heated garage).

I could be stopped with the throttle set at 3000, and it would be hunting, going down to 500 then back up to 3000, up and down multiple times.

Im wondering if maybe that little bit of snow that got into the tank could cause this, is it a fuel issue, fuel filter issue. Or, something much more serious.

Should I add a fuel additive and see if that helps, drain the tank fuel up with fresh fuel. Or Drain the tank add fresh fuel with additive, and change the fuel filters?

Anyone able to point me into a direction to start? Calling for another 8+, and I need my baby to move snow (multiple people depend on me and my orange gal).

Thanks in advance

Phil

I'm wondering when you purchased the fuel in the tank, and that you added yesterday? If it was before they switched to winter blends, you could get getting some gelling in the fuel.

I would try a fuel additive first, and if that doesn't work, then consider draining the tank and replacing the filter. Also, if you could put the machine in the heated garage for a couple of hours before you put the fuel additive in, it might help things out (fuel and additive might mix better at the warmer temp.

Most likely you have a problem with fuel delivery. If you have summer fuel, it can begin to wax up the filter at around 28F if your fuel is untreated. Unless you had a lot of snow get into the fuel, I doubt that's the problem. Most tank water contamination comes from condensation from partly filled tanks. Always try to keep your tank topped off when not in use to minimize condensation.

It's also possible that your fuel is contaminated with water from condensation and it's freezing at the tank outlet or on the filter. Does your fuel filter have a water drain on the bottom of the filter canister? If it does drain some fuel from that into a clear container and see if there's water in the bottom of the container. If it won't drain that's a tip off that there is either ice or wax in the filter housing. If you are near an electrical outlet use a hair dryer to warm the filter canister and see if fuel will run out after you have warmed it up. Drain the filter housing of all the water. You might also consider just partially draining the tank to make sure you get any water out from the bottom. You don't have to drain the whole tank. Then either add some #1 diesel to your tank(lower wax point) or some winter diesel and add some diesel fuel treatment. You may have to bleed the fuel system. It should start and run now.
Continue to check for water at the fuel filter drain and remove it.
