I致e installed the third function switch to control my grapple. The instal was very straight forward with good instructions. My mechanical abilities would rate as not strong, yet I persevere. I read through the instructions several times and went for it. Total time about 7 hours, instal by dealer quoted at $650. I live a 1 1/2 hr ferry ride and a 1/2 hr drive from the Kubota dealer, my biggest frustration was realizing that the switch set up does not come with couplers. Mid instal had to make the trip back to the dealer, to find out they don稚 stock the cplrs, ordered them and left. A week later made another trip to the dealer to pick them up. Got home and they didn稚 fit. Back to dealer and the parts guy tells me I need adapters, which of course they don稚 have. Not the slightest bit of customer care.
The Grapple: buy one! I bought the Landpride because I got a deal when I purchased the BX, quality and operation are excellent. The first thing I latched onto was a 30 downed cedar, I pulled back on the lever and nothing happened. Sad. Then I boosted the RPMs and tried again. Yippee. Picked it up and drove across the lot. With it I致e built and fed a good size burn pile, picked and piled 600lb rocks, raked through brush to grab debris, no problems whatsoever. The whole setup costs a bit, but it enhances the tractor exponentially. I would absolutely buy again and do my own instal.
