I thought I saw a post on this a while back but found nothing using search.
Doing a masive amout of loader work and my Bx2660 seems to be a lot slower in reverse today. Has about 45 hours on the machine. Thinking the earlier post mentioned cleaning the hyd screen. How much fluid will I loose pulling the screen? Can anyone help with this or at least point me to previous post.

Based on what I've read here, you will lose quite a bit of fluid by pulling the screen. Since you are at 45 hours, why not just go ahead and do the 50 hr service?

I'm not sure the screen is the problem as it should not be all that bad in just 45 hours.
I had that problem once and discovered a small piece of slag wedged between the foot petal and the floor board.
I'd check that nothing is interfering with the petal movement anywhere before geting into the filter screen angle.

The pedal on my BX has an external limiter in both directions. Could be yours has debris blocking the reverse one, making it so you cant rock the pedal fully back.

I'd check for obstructions and incorrect adjustement before fooling with the tranny screen.

Being close to 50 hours I went to my Kubota dealer and bought the engine oil and filter, spare fuel filter, along with 5 gallons of super hydro fluid and filter.
(I was planning on having them do the first 50 hour service but with a large project I am working on, I really do not want to be without the tractor for a full day or two.) They do not change hydro fluid at 50 hours but I might if I see the screen and filter have any metal in them.
I mentioned the slow reverse to them and they thought it was in the linkage. Similar to what a lot of you mentioned as an obstruction.
After a lot of looking, I finally found the problem. Loose nut on the rear joint of the reverse linkage. Not an easy place to get to but after tightening it up, which took the slop out, all is good again.

On another note ..... I could have saved money by buying my supplies from a big box store instead of my Kubota dealer. The extensive conversations I had today with the guys at the Kubota dealership about the different oil types and other related maintenance and operating tips was worth much more to me than I ever could have saved by buying elsewhere.

That screen is not too expensive. I bought a spare for my BX2200 and I think I had $13 invested (back around 2004).

I did one changeout with the hydro fluid full and only lost about a cup and a half, but I had my spare ready to screw right in.

Update- the screen filter for the BX2660 is K2581-36520 and runs $23.30 at Tractorsmart.
