Just looked on the BXpanded website and noticed a back hoe ripper. Is this new to the site? Has anyone ever used one before? Is it worth getting one of these. They seem to be pretty good for stump removal.

Yes, I recently purchased the BxPanded Backhoe Ripper Tooth and have used it a few times now.

I also have Bro-Tek's Ripper Tooth.

Below are the differences between the two:

1) BxPanded
- 1/2 inch steel
- Serrated edges (teeth)
- Rear hook

2) Bro-Teks
- 1/3 inch steel
- 45 degree angle
- Plow can be attached to rear

I found the BxPanded's Ripper Tooth really cuts through the roots and the hook on back is handy to pull the roots out or grab the bush.

Where Bro-Tek's Ripper Tooth seems to be designed more to dig a small trench to place electrical wire in, eliminating the need to use the bucket and dig a big trench unnecessarily.

So, after experimenting with both Ripper teeth, I now use the BxPanded to cut/rip out roots and the Bro-Teks to create a small trench for wire/etc.

Hope this helps.

How about some pictures of each ripper?

1st, I need to make a correction to my statement above:
- Bro-Tek's Ripper Tooth is 1/2 inch metal, not 1/3, my mistake

Attached/below are photos of both the BxPanded and Bro-Tek's Ripper Tooth.

These photos where taken immediately after purchasing/receiving the products... today, they are a bit dirty/scraped... LOL!

One last comment... I use both the BxPanded and the Bro-Tek's Ripper Tooths...

The BxPanded ripper tooth I use for taking out bushes/tree roots and the Bro-Tek's ripper tooth to dig small trenches for wire/pipe...

I like them both... and would suggest purchasing either one... depending on your needs/projects...

Hope this helps...

Don't own either... yet! But have more than one product from both companies and all have been top notch! I do think I want a trencher style rather than a ripper for my needs. I currently use my 12in bucket on my BH and it leaves a bigger mess than necessary.

Agree with your statement...

Both Harry from BxPanded and Richard from Bro-Tek...

Make some great products specifically designed for the small tractor owner...

But, a guy never have enough attachments for his tractor... LOL!
