BXxx50 Battery Cover: New or Old?

I know there have been a number of threads regarding the redesigned BXxx50 battery cover. However, I could not find what I was looking for, so here is my thread.

My BX2350 is 18 months into the 2 year warranty. The sides of my battery cover don't exactly fit well but don't constantly flop out of place either like with some folks, so I am wondering if I have the old or new one.

I know the new part # is K2581-57134, however, I could not find anything stamped onto my battery cover. From what I hear the old and new ones are very similar visually. Is there any way to tell them apart? If I have the old one I would like to hit up the dealer for the new one under warranty before it expires. Thanks!

... one other thing. I did see a post http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-owning-operating/221750-plastic-front-end-fix.html#post2537297 by Thavil showing a retrofit kit for the battery cover. Is this what I should be seeing or does Kubota have a replacement other than this retrofit kit?

Follow this thread and you will see the two bracket part #'s that I bought after Thavil showed me my tractor had them missing. I bought the new cover (mine had the ears busted off) and the two brackets...walla!! A MUCH nicer fit!!:thumbsup:

Thanks for the reply Deano. Those retrofit brackets look nice and it sounds like they do the trick. In my case though, I am still under warranty, so if Kubota has a fix for it that they cover under the warranty, I'd like to make sure I get that.

However, if it turns out that my battery cover is the redesigned one, I probably will spring for the brackets just to stiffen the thing up.
