Cab-3030

Anyone have pics of a home made cab or canopy placed on a 3030? I am looking at designing one and fabricating one out of 1.5" round tube stock. My friend who races circle track and bends this size of tube for his car chassis will be helping me out. I am looking to attach the rear portion to the foldable ROPS base (where the rops lock in with the threaded stud), or maybe mount it in front of the rops so that I can still fold them up and they serve their purpose; I will then mount the front to the area behind the FEL mounts. My uncle made a canopy for his 2910, and it serves the purpose but I am looking for something a little more stylish, for a stylish looking tractor /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif. I would like to effectively plow my 3/8 mile long driveway with this new tractor and will also be looking at mounting removable lexan panels that will mount to threaded studs on the frame. Also, does Kubota make a bolt on heater that would heat a cab such as this? I just could not see buying the cab model for my purpose and use in the summertime.

Here is the cab I built last winter. Finished with the A/C this summer. It's kind of boxy but my Massey is an older version, not rounded like newer models. The entire post is in the Build-It-Yourself catagory on page 3 Cab with heat and A/C. The way I posted pics a few thraeds down were only good for a short time. Also there are a few more pics of it in my photo gallery you might check out.
A cab is well worth the time invested. Only drawback I've found is the noise level inside. Good luck and take many photos along the way. ( I did'nt until it was too late )

Sould have sprung for the B3030 cab model eh? How much to build a cab like that on my Kubota l2800?

Do you mean how much would I charge to build one for you? As much as I enjoyed building this one I dont think I would take on a job like that for hire simply because I'm far from a professional welder and besides, it would be very difficult to get even a close fit w/o the tractor to build from. I covered my tractor with canvas cut from an old tent to protect it from sparks etc. and built the cab to fit. Removed cab for final welds and grinding of course. As to cost of cab, I really didn't keep track. I just bought materials as I went over a period of time.
