Ive compleatly worn out my neck from looking behind me while bush hogging fields over the years. And now that ive got a Cabed tractor seeing behind me is even harder especialy with a flail mower, its sits to close to the back of the tractor. so i bought me the back up camera called "Cab Cam" and installed it. i got two cameras with mine but i probly only needed one. so i put one camera set so i could see strait doun at the emplement and one cam looking strait back. It even works in the dark.

I'm doing the same thing, to be able to see the front attachments below the hood of the tractor. The monitor runs off a 12V socket and can also be used in the truck for backing up or to monitor a trailer load. The one I got was from the AgCam folks who make hardened cameras for Ag uses. Their cheaper model is here. It is similar to the CabCam but the cameras are smaller. Both the AgCam and CabCam units have a custom cable which carries both power and video, so you only have to run the one cable to the camera. One can get an optional addon RF transmitter/receiver to avoid running the cable.

i didnt even think about the front, it alway makes me made when i try to use the front loader to scoop up stuff and go to dump it and find out i didnt even get any of the stuff i was loading into the buckent or didnt get a full bucket full.

the hardest part was mounting the cameras to the out side cab some cabs dont have much area to mount to because of all the glass. A remote camera would be good too as long as it was powered by the tractors electrical system i wouldnt want to mess with batteries for a camera.

can you post pictures of the camera system on your tractor for comparison.?

I haven't mounted it on the tractor yet; so far I am only using it on the truck as I need to install a 12V outlet on the tractor first. But you can see pictures of the cameras on the Web site I linked to. They are about 2" round, and come with a magnetic mount so that you can reposition easily. Look plenty tough to me (sealed, waterproof, dustproof), although the housing is a black plastic. The original AgCams are tougher aluminum, but much more expensive. Note, all of these cameras are NTSC not HD, but for what we are using them for this is fine.

How hard was the install? Are they both hard wired?

yes they both wired. the one in the roof was easy. but the lower one i had to drill holes through the metal to the inside of the cab and i had a few problems before i figured it out. I learned not to rob power from my radio power supply because the cameras seem to make interferance for the radio so i had to use another power supply in the roof besides the radio.
