Cabinets for Dummies

What would be a good book on building cabinets and shelves? I've built a couple open cabinets for stereo equipment, work benches etc.. in the past and they worked and looked fine.

I'm not looking to build fine furniture or fancy kitchen cabinets. I want to build cabinets above a workbench in the shop. Also some drawered cabinets under the workbench as well. Then possibly build kitchen and storage cabinets in the finished area of the shop. Tip....don't let your wife get involved, I made that mistake. When done we could rent it out for an apartment.

It would be nice if it showed framed(faced) vs frameless, common mistakes, tips, tricks material selection, etc...

I have found Wood, Shop Notes, and Woodsmith magazines easy to follow - they have some description with the plans. Also check out New yankee workshop

Are those all books that you have? Thats a lot of books!

I've found lots of books searching the internet. I'm just looking for direction as to wether one book is a lot better than the other and/or stay away from X becuase its worthless.

Cabinet making for the small shop and Designing and building cabinets are a couple that are on my short list.

It is a list of WW books that have been recommended to me one way or the other - most from WW forums on the net.

I have read about 1/2 of them - 98% of my reading is from the local library - they share with other libraries in the area so I can request a book via the web.

I'm in there so much that my wife refers to the librarian as "the other woman" /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif She bakes them Christmas cookies to thank them for putting up with me. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

EDIT - I think any of the books with generic sounding names would be helpful - see what your library has & check it out before laying out the $$$
