I have a problem of the two cables that attach to the bottom of the Quick Disconnect block freezing after setting over night. I have to use a hair dryer for 15 - 20 minutes before I can lift the the snow blower or rotate the chute. I have no idea why it is doing this. Has anyone else have has this problem. Can a person wrap a heat tape around the cables and the bottom the the block? Any other ideas???

Not sure what you mean when you say cables going to quick disconnect block, are you talking hydraulic lines? I can not visualize what you mean as I have a GrandL3540ith a LA2674 with and I do not have any cables,.A picture would be helpfull.

YES, major headache on a couple of machines. In fact, I should address the one before it gets any colder. Moisture has gotten into the cable. You could buy a new cable, but this is costly. I remove it, and use a little affair made mostly for the snow mobile industry. It is only a few bucks. It allows you to quite effectively squirt lubricant down the inside of the cable. Once freshly lubed, it doesn't seem to freeze up.

you are referring to the Mechanical Control Cables going into the remote hydraulic control... there are a few places that condensed moisture will freeze in them.... You need to search "hydraulic control froze" and a few variations there are several good fixes covered....

I squirted gas line anti-freeze into my snowmobile throttle cable when it froze once. The alcohol mixes with the water and prevents freeze-up. In time, the water evaporates along with the alcohol. Now it all depends on whether you can get that fluid to go down where you want it.

On my new Kubota I used a large syringe and needle to inject methanol into the high end of the cable.
I have two cables running side by side to rear remote valves and yet only one had the problem of freezing solid.
I have a cab and removed one of the inside plastic panels to allow cab heat to get to the cables which would free up after 20-30 minutes.
Has not got cold yet this year so I don't know if my fix was permanent

Go to E-Bay and look up "Snowmobile Cable Lubricator" I only paid half that for mine. It's the best few bucks you will ever spend if you have cables freezing up.

The cables Kubota uses for the rear remotes are too well sealed to work with the typical cable lubricator.
I already had one of these and it will not work.
That is why I went the large syringe and needle route.

Usually the rubber boot slides off. I have only ever done this with cables off the machine. It allows you to manipulate the cable and get a better feel for how well lubed it is. In the back of my mind, I seem to recall that I built some kind of a tube, that fit around the cable assembly and I could fill with some oil and then pressurize with air. I had zero luck, trying to get anything to go any distance down a control cable without air pressure.
