cadet rzt 50 trans prob

my neighbor has a cadet rzt 50, about 4 years old. Says that after he mows 45 min, and unit gets hot, one side stops pulling, and just 'shutters'. He has to wait until it is cool again before he can continue, (or move it). It has been to dealer and other repair places, but no one seems to be able to solve the problem. Says oil level is correct, and doesn't matter anyway,...uses Synthetic oil, viscosity as indicated. I drove the machine yesterday, (it was cool) and mowed for about one hour.. no such symptom. Had to quit as every lawn in neighborhood was done...
anybody got any ideas???? or KNOW what is wrong??

How much does he mow? Those machines are made for a acre or less.

If you were going to spend that much for a mower that is rated to only mow an acre you might as well get a push mower. I had a Yard pro with a 14HP Kohler that I mowed 2.5 acres with for seven years and just over an acre for the previous 10 years before that and only had to replace one set of spindle bearings in the mower deck. I dispose of the ratings that manufacturers put on their equipment as they are trying to clear themselves of warranties ASAP. This doesn't apply to all manufacturers, but does sort of cover themselves from someone buying a homeowner model then using it for commercial purposes. The commercial models do have longer life spans given to them though. I do own an RZT50 and hope it will mow my 2.5 acres for years to come trouble free. I bought it at HD when it was on sale with what I call a super deal. That story I will start on another thread not to steal this one.
