Our county fair is going on. The Cadet dealer has 2 of the new 3200 Yanmar powered units on display. One with FEL and R4 tires is priced at a fair special of 16200, a bare tractor with turfs at 15000.

The JD rep came by while I working in the booth next to the Cadet display. I know the guy, so ambled over to ask him what he thought. He felt it was interesting that Yanmar engines are in both, and thought the 3200 Cadet was similar to his 790 if you put an hst in the 790. He felt the basic frame was the same on them both.

The hst is dual pedals, the throttle is a long lever next to the cowl, the PTO controls are almost where you cold operate them with your left foot. The fenders are stamped steel, not glass or plastic. Overall size seems to be about 7/8 of my DX29. They had one hooked up to a 6 foot bush hog, including the PTO. I don't know that it would run that big a mower, but would be impressed if it could.

Well, this is a 32 HP (28 PTO HP, I think), so a 6' cutter isn't unreasonable.
I'm really curious how the Cadet/Yanmar partnership will work out. IMHO, this will be a good marriage.

Hope this joint venture does work out. I believe Yanmar needs a permanent long term presence in the states.

I do wonder what this joint venture mean to JD and their Yanmar built machinies. Is there anything for JD owners need to be concerned over when it come to long term >10 yrs parts/service with their Yanmar built machines?

I highly doubt JD is going anywhere!!

I think Mickey was asking about long term support for the Deere designed/Yanmar built tractors.
I'm sure the end of the partnership between Deere and Yanmar has provisions for parts for the foreseeable future...at least for currently produced machines.

I'm guessing owners of older Deere CUTs such as the 755, 855 and 955 may have parts issues. I don't think those who own 670's and 770's will have much problem since both are closely related and share many components with the 790 tractors.
870's, 970's and 1070's are pretty close to the 990, so I don't expect too many problemd there either.
I do expect sheet metal for the x70 series may be a bit more difficult to obtain though.

No idea about the 4xxx series built between 1998 and 2004.

This is all guess work on my part, of course.
