My son borrowed a .22 Ruger handgun from me and after doing some shooting, he left it laying on the trunk of his car and drove off. A newspaper delivery truck found it laying in the road at 3:30 am and turned it over to the Sherriffs office! Deputies just handed it back to me (gun case still had original receipt in it). No damage and still had a loaded clip in the case! What are the odds this could happen? Maybe I should play the lotto!

I would not be too happy with your son right about now though. That is one of the most careless things you can do. I am sure you are thankful no kids found the gun or anyone else who would have possibly harmed someone.

I chewed his @@#... worst part is it was found next to the High School... Cops were cool about it... I love cops that have common sense! Gun was used at the old house (about 1/4 mile away) Dam groundhogs... Hate them!

That's a rare find, cop with a common sense nowadays. Hmm, when I think of it, the common sense is kind of retracting from the world.

That is one heck of a stupid mistake, I can say that because I have done it before. Had been staying at my Aunt's house. Loaded up to come home and left the pistol on the bumper to raise the window on the camper shell. Half way home, I remembered. My Uncle found it a half mile away. It had been ran over and the frame was bent. Almost 20 years ago, and that is the first time I have told the story. JC

:D:D:D

A family member won 10K in a state lottery. When he went to pick up the check he took a cheap pistol with him. For some reason when he was getting into the car he put the pistol on the roof. And drove off. He did not get is pistol back.

So maybe you should play the lottery real quick. :D:D

Dan

Lucky.

Sorry, just that kind of humor today.

Glad it worked out.

When are you scheduled to have the horseshoes removed? :D:D -- In this country you, your son and the driver who found it and turned it in would probably be in custody :(:(. ( and you probably would have a SWAT team searching your house to make sure the rest of your firearms were safetly stored) When I was a kid we used to take .22s to school and leave them hidden in a ditch (empty with the clips in our pockets) so we could hunt groundhogs on the way home -- those days are long gone. Glad it worked out Lucky.
