Can any of these be used for toplink on the 3PTH

There is a auction place here in Seattle that has lot's of different things they auction for large companys. I see these Bobcat Hydraulics listed on there and thought maybe I could come up with a hydraulic ram for my toplink. Probably just a pipe dream. I really don't need a new project and not being familiar with hydraulic plumbing. Right now the bid is up to $52. The auction is going for another 4-5 days

One new hydraulic cylinder is about $50 or so.... lots depends on what it is... so, if it is ALL of those for about $50, that's Ok..... I used a hydraulic cylinder from TSC for my top link... but had to manufacture some extensions to get the right length... hard to tell what those lengths are... or if they are appropriate length for your tractor.... if it were me and I could get them all for $60 and they seemed to be in working order (again, conditon is uncertain, they all look used).. I'd probably do it if I KNEW that at least 3 of them would fit my tractor and needs without any extra manufacturing.. I am sure that any of them would be sufficiently strong for your needs, unless you have a really BIG tractor...

Most, if not all, of those cylinders are going to be way too long and would still require modification.. Probably better to look elsewhere.

Good point guys about them being too long for what I would need. There is one picture with a 1 foot ruler next to them so they all appear to be about 3 feet long. That price is for the whole lot of them.

From your description of your situation it sounds like you will be better off to wait until you are ready to do the mod and then order just what you need new from someplace like Surplus Center or get something even more complete from CCM.

If all you need is one for your top link, I'd say no. But like TexasJohn said, for 60$ I would buy them. Good deal and so far away

Hey Jim,

I bought a hyd cylinder off e-bay about 15 months ago. Not sure what part of the machine it was supposed to be for, but it has worked out great for my center link. Sure beats getting up and down from the tractor to adjust the normal center link. I think I paid about $60 for it and it was new.

Thanks Mike I may look into that or one of the other sources mentioned on another reply. I have bought a few things from this auction place. They are located about 2 miles from where I work so it is convenient for me to pick them up. These could be adapted for a bucket grapple possibly I suppose if there were some tinkering.

They also look to be way too long for a bucket grapple unless your building a very tall grapple. Most grapples use a cylinder similar in length and stroke to a top link.
