Can anybody identify this Ford tractor, possibly an 1801? Dave

1801 was essentially an industrial 2000.. a realitively small tractor.. that monster looks to be the size of a 6000.. though it's tinwork does not look super familiar to me.. If it was a ford.. i'd say expiremental 6000.. etc. it has a frame rail.. and -most- fords were casting-body style..

This picture was taken out at the Nebraska test site which I had the pleasure of visiting this past April during their open house. Whatever engine it has it almost looks like it has 2 of them. This is the only pic I have ever seen of it. It is most likely some experimental tractor. The grill resembles the 600 to 900 seris but those bullet like headlights I dont recall being used on anything else. Well, we will wait and see if someone can come up with an answer.

I wonder if it is one of the turbine prototype tractors they made one or two from what i have read? I am like you when you look at the engine it looks like two . What a tractor!

It is the tubine typhoon one of the prototype tractors . Look up ford tubine tractors for some good reading on it.

You could be looking at 2 turbochargers or superchargers. Another peculiar thing is the apparent lack of any air intake or exhaust. I sure would like to see the other side of that tractor. Whatever Ford was experimenting with it never made it to production. I got a feeling it was making a lot of HP too.

It is Fords Typhoon 1 it is a turbine engine . Just google or search for the turbine Ford tractor . There is a 8n ford with a turbine called Typhoon 2 a man built it .

By Jingo Full Pull, you solved the mystery. I am going to try to attach a better pic of it where the air intake and exhaust are clearly visible. The engine is the weirdest thing I have ever seen. Thanks for solving the mystery.
