I'm considering using a rivet nut to fasten brackets and a DC outlet to my tractor sheet metal. Does anyone have a good rivet nut tool to recommend? Thank you, Gary
Gary, did you consider something like this: a marine grade 12V outlet. I think it was around $6, and a hole saw is all you need to install it. I got some inline fuse holders, less than a buck, from Hong Kong via eBay. A waterproof, rustproof installation.

Riv nut is a BF Goodrich aviation tool. I have a complete set but B4 getting them I simply used an appropriate machine screw and proper nut.
We'd thread the screw into the riv-nut and tighten the nut down to pull the rivet up and compress it in place.
You should be able to purchase from any aviation supply house. Sporty is one and they do have a small unit for occasional usage.
