My fathe wants to put the industrial tires on his B8200 4wd tractor. It currently has the original factory bridgestone turf tires. He would like to keep his original wheels and just add industrial tires. Can R4 tires be put on the front and back using original wheels? If so what size? thanks.

Your question is not the easiest to answer even for a dealer. At the time that the 8200 was built the industrial tire rage had not hit and there were few if any companies that were installing them from the factory.

The part that makes this even harder to figure out is which ones might match up to give you the right driveline performance. I've yet to see a conversion from turfs to industrial or ag tires using the same rims that was right. You would have to get rims and tires and with some work you might get lucky and find that those off an more current model might have the right bolt pattern as well as the proper lead lag ratio.

I lucked out, but it took a lot of reseach!! if you post the tire sizes I might be able to find something out for you....
I was able to use the same rims my turf's were on and found proper lead ratio( 1.4%) I now have new R4's on frt and rear.

I switched from R1's to R4's on my B8200 I had a few years ago. That tractor is very similar to the old B20 TLB model. I used 12.4-16 for the rear and kept the original wheels. For the front, I had to buy new B20 rims as there was no way to get the wider R4's on the B8200's front rims. The B20 rims were part #70000-00877. The front tire size I used was 23 x 8.50-12. You state you have turf tires, not the R1's I had. My parts book shows your rear rim is the same as mine, but your front is different. I can't tell if you will need new front rims or not. Those tire sizes will give you the proper diameter ratio for 4x4 operation.

I read your statement about putting industrial tires on your father's B8200 4wd tractor. I am wondering what you eventually did. Did you put rims on it, and if so, what size did you use. I have the B8200 also with the original ag tires on it, and I would like to switch to the R4 tires too. Thanks. Dave
