Yanmar 336D
I just bought a hydraulic control from a seller on ebay. I was actually after the handles for my busted front loader handle but he made a good offer on the whole mechanism, so I bought it all. I just got it today and there is a lot of rust on the outside but not sure about the inside condition. There where hoses on it when I bought it but he disconnected them and put tape on all the connections when he shipped it. Is this something I can take apart and clean and rebuild the inside my self or do I need to take it too a pro shop? I already have the single control like this one on my Yanmar 336D for hydraulic rippers on my scraper box but this has two controls, so maybe I can use the extra one for adding a tilt, grapple or backhoe thumb.:) I'm not too knowledgable about hydraulic controls.
Will attach two pics of controller.

thanks,
Ralph

I would sure give it a go, if it was mine. The inside condition
is what counts. Go for it.

Take all the fittings off and look inside. Looking at the first picture, the 45 degree JIC fitting pointing to the upper left has corrosion inside it. The qd does also. If there's any corrosion or rust inside the valve, the only thing it's good for is a paper weight.

What did it cost for the shipping. I'll forget fixing it. Why didn't you just buy the handles they look like cross they can't be to much from them.

The two handles where $15.00 but sold me everything for $45.00 plus $28 shipping. Didn't know the cost of shipping until after I got it. It is very heavy. Didn't know if the handles could still be bought but was planning on trying to use one for the Yanmar YFL 1500 loader on my Yanmar 336D that was broke when I bought it. Yanmar doesn't have the loader handle part anymore, so thought I might be able to modify or use one of these. Yes they are a Cross and are the same as the single lever control for a hydraulic ripper on the box blade, that came with the tractor when I bought it. I'm still learning all this stuff, so don't know if it was a good or bad deal but thought for $30 more, I'd give it a try. If this is still useable, looks like I'd still be looking for a replacement handle for the YFL 1500 loader. Appreciate all the input. I've never rebuilt one, so was really wondering if one like me, with no experience could actually rebuilt this or had to have a pro shop do it. Can and where would one get the parts to do so?

thanks
Ralph

Give it a shot it would be fun just to see how they are made and understand how they work, if you can get the spools out . Keep us posted.

I really don't think that valve will be any good. But, let's take lemons and make lemonade. Why don't you go to some kind of website and get a basic schematic for a valve. Print it, then take your valve apart and see how it works.
