Snow Can I convert 3pt hitch blower to front mount ?

I just bought a slightly used BX24 with 54" mower, B2781 rear blower and a rear blade. I see that the B2781 can be ordered as front or rear mount.
Can I convert my unit to front mount by getting BX2751 Quick hitch and BX2753 mid PTO kit ?

There are some threads buried around here that talked about the possibility of it, but I have not heard of anyone actually doing it.

The major thing seems to be the gearing, since it runs at 540 on the rear and 2500 or whatever on the front. The thinking was that they use different gear boxes?

If you mount the blower on the front it's a chore to get it off and the loader on,,,if you want to physically move the snow,,,,,I like my rear blower and I still have the ability to use my loader

I hadn't thought about the RPM difference.

As I said, I have just bought this equip. and have not done any snow work yet, but it just seems running backwards to blow snow will be a bit hard on my 'getting older' back. My previous unit was a much older Bolens with front mount snow thrower.

I'll see if I can unearth this old thread you mention.

I'll check to see how 'uncheap' this solution is.

I'll probably wait and get a winter of snowblowing under my belt before I jump in any direction on this. I've got about 300 feet of driveway, part of it circular. We don't usually get more than a foot of snow at a time, but we do get a lot of drifting... which means clearing the driveway more than once a day sometimes.

As long as your shopping you should check
with Pronovost/Hardy to enquire about
their front mounted three point hitch units
with reversing gearboxes as well.

When I priced it for the 1523, was around $4k, but that included the gear box which converts the mid mount PTO from 2,000 to 540. I like that it runs off the mid mount, and does not tie up the rear PTO like others do. You can use your regular snow blower too.

Will have to enquire on a price for the 1635.

$4k,,,,,,wow,,,my 3 pt blower cost me $1k,,,new on a palet,,,,$4k mount for $1k blower,,,,what else could it be used with,,don't think I'd want to run my brush hog on the front
