Well, I've done a "pondlet" with a scoop and a box blade. A slow process, but fun with seat time. IIRC, mine was about 10'x40'x 5' deep.
You won't be able to make very steep banks. And you are limited in how much time you have to get it done before it starts to fill with water. All the patience in the world won't help if it starts to fill up.
