Can I fit an Allis B head to a C block?

Hi guys, I've been working on restoring an Allis B for the past eight months. I've ruined the B block but have a C that I would like to put the rebuilt B head on. Can this be done? The B is a 1948 and the C is, I think a 1949. Serial number is rusted out so I can't get a clear picture of it. Any help would be appreciated.
