I bought my 1910 ford three years ago with the original tires the fronts were foam filled and the rears , loaded with chloride, the rears were checked pretty bad but didnt leak about a year ago my right rear started seeping just enough to see chloride residue around the checks and now it is showing a noticable sag.
so now to my question, is it possible to have my checked rear tires un loaded and filled with foam , or should I buy new tires and load them with chloride, or buy new tires and foam load them? the tractor has about 1300 hrs and the tread on the rears is very good.

I just went through this myself. If the tread itself on the tire is good, then you can get the tire filled. The guy at the foam place told me that you should have a new, or like new tire because the tread on a new tire lasts longer than a retread. His point was for example, you might get 2000 hours of tread life out of a new tire filled with foam, but after that you might get only 1200 hours of tread life out of a recap. He also pointed out that a foam filled tire weighs a lot more than even a tire filled with calcium chloride, and you can't drain out the foam. This makes handling the tire more difficult, so the fewer times you have to handle that tire the better. In my case I needed a new tire on the one side because it blew out. The other side had only 74 hours on it, and the guy looked at it and said it was fine. I think you will be fine if the tread is good on yours. let us know how you make out.

The CaCl solution has gotten into the tire carcass if its leaking thru the tire. When it dries crystals will form and continued flexure will cause them to abrade the tire cord and degrade the tire much more quickly. Better to pump out the CaCl and save it. Refill with water and run it all summer to flush the salt from the carcass. Then before winter for the cheapest remedy put in tubes and refill with the CaCl. Or if you want foam, just skip the tubes and foam em naked.

I have to agree..

rinse then tube then fill.. or just foam em.. etc.

I never run liquid ballast on an un-tubed tire...

25 $ tube, a 4$ drill pump.. couple feet of hose, your power drill, and a 6$ purp valve plus some buckets and a ouple hours of your time will do it too..

I agree. Those big rears are really easy to work on - the beads on mine broke just by standing on the tire. Stuff in tube through the bead gap and re-fill. Piece of cake.

The added bonus is you'll know what to do if you get a flat. Tubes make flat fixing really easy - Instead of dishing out $150 for a "professional" repair, you'll only be out $2 for a bicycle tube patch kit.
