Repowering a 1979 Hydrostatic 111 from 12hp Briggs to an 18hp 608cc Husqvarna.
The Briggs was getting long in the tooth and burning oil so I thought I'd upgrade
with a stronger engine since it was on sale for 350usd. Pressure lubed with spin off
filter blah blah. Same size dimensionally than the old Briggs. May have to drill new holes
on the deck.
Would like to take additional advantage of the added torque to spin the blades a little faster.
The easiest way would be to put a smaller pulley on the deck, but that one is already very
small. Don't want to go smaller back there. The 12v clutch pulley is twice the size and a
better candidate to make larger.
Any advice here?
