Can I mount a pump upside down?

Hello,
I'm installing a new hydraulic pump,
the 'in' and 'out' are opposite of what I need.
I can I simply flip it upside down?

i'm interested in where you got the idea that the pump had an up or down?

SOME pumps you can actually take apart and rotate parts of the housing. Not that it matters if you have a 2-bolt symmetrical mount (most..) and can just flip the whole thing upside down.
