Greetings! Haven't been here in awhile, hope everyone is healthy and happy.

I use an MX5 mower on my JD 4120 and would like to know if it's OK to shift the mower to the right or left by adjusting the stabilizer arms. Even if it only gets me a few inches, it would make a difference in one particularly nasty spot next to my driveway. My concern is that it will put too much tension on the PTO shaft. Anyone doing this or any suggestions on how best to shift the mower to one side?

Thanks!
Tim

I do not see a problem. My mower sways without a problem. JD sells the MX8 cutter with a hydraulic side shift that moves the mower about a foot offset in both directions.

Thanks for the reply. Just needed a little confirmation before trying it.

What Zebrafive said, no big deal, the shaft runs at an angle anyway.
