My experiences vary...
My Lowes will exchange item if they carry EXACT item. Else, they give you the 800 number to call. Small 6in flat tip screwdriver I called on three months ago, they sent me a new item no hassle, no picture required, waited a couple of weeks. Next was a larger made-in-usa really old screw driver I called on two weeks ago. The young lady on the phone with an international accent said they would be available within the week and she would call me back. Well, I'm still waiting for the call back. I keep the broke item on my desk by my PC as a reminder to followup when I get the time. Craftsman is not what it used to be.
