For those that don't know, If the nitroglycerin does soak out of the dynamite and into the box, the box itself can become very explosive and sensitive to shock putting it off. Best call your local law enforcement if found and let them destroy it. I don't think that is what you have there, but old dynamite boxes can be dangerous under some circumstances. If you ever see anything that looks like crystalline growth on an old dynamite box, back slowly away and do not even touch it. Call law enforcement.
