This defintely has nothing to do with tractors, but lot of good people on this forum with a diverse set of knowledge and opinions so I thought I'd ask it here.
I am thinking about buying a vacation home in Nova Scotia Canada, (Goldboro area). Can't believe how inexpensive waterfront property is there compare to New England where I live. I grew up on the water, but can't afford anything in New England on the water anymore. A have my eye on a nice old house, 4 acres of oceran front for around $100K. Can't even get raw land on the ocean in the states for that...
Anyway, any know the tax and/or legal implications of a US citizen owning a second house in Canada? Any special permissions needed? etc.
Anyone know how bad the weather is in Nova Scotia in the winter compared to say New England? How do Canadians feel about americans in general...are we likely to get snubbed by the locals?
Any advice or opinions appreciated.
