Yes, $5K is a lot of money. Mostly I was pissed at the dealer. They were use to being the only choice within 3 hours and have a terrible reputation here. He must have figured I would back down when he suggested picking up the tractor. I would never do that though.

Note that there is no Kioti Canada. Dealers here buy in US$. For the most part any price difference is as a result of lack of competition / regional overhead costs and so on.

I've been quoted Kioti prices that are close to in line with USA prices in the past.

Kubota's prices up here are still quite high.

I purchased my CK20 in fall 2006, at that time here in Saskatchewan the saving would have been $1500.00, last summer when buying the backhoe the final saving if I had drove to the border (5 hour drive) would have been $500.00, the dealer here does at least deal somewhat and threw in the bigfoot pads in the deal, supporting the local ecomomy is first if one adds the cost for travel and expenses, On another note, I wanted a Alpine deck for the motorhome Christmas the Alpine US site had the deck listed at $950.00 US and $1250.00 CDN, they have since changed the price to US only but if you call the 1800# they still wanted $1100.00, the local dealer had the deck for $900.00 CDN. I say give the dealers a chance to try to come close to the same price
