Mike was kind enough to illustrate how his canopy attached so I could make own of my own. I'm slow and this proves it cause I'm still not done, but progress is being made. If I could just get used to steering around that board that is holding the front end up, I'd be closer. I hope I can find the right steel to finish before it really warms up. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Marty if you slide forward while mowing that 2X4 is really gonna hurt! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

All kidding aside looks to me like you are starting to get the canopy nailed down. It looks real nice to me. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

More pictures please as you make progress.

Marty, other than the caution about drilling the ROPS, don't forget that you are going to hear a lot more engine noise because the canopy will reflect sound from the engine. If you put some sound absorbing foam on the underside of that canopy it will deaden a lot of the noise and help with the heat build up from the sun too.

Like Bob was talking about, you need some insulation installed before you get done with it. My Wellsag canopy is aluminum diamond plate like yours and has black insulation wall board on it. It works really well to keep the sound down as well as the radiant heat. It is sandwiched between the aluminum and the angle iron frame. BTW, it is looking good.

Nope, no ROPS drilling, I used the existing ROPS bolts, just pulled off the washers which were the same thickness as the support frame metal. I have some black 1/2" rubatex foam from Graingers to put on as a headliner to cut the noise. I also have some rubber isolation spacers to keep noise and vibration down. Now all I need is some thinwall box steel for the frame and some time to play. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I am planning for wiring with a switch panel, a fan, cigar lighter for plugging stuff in, front and rear hazard and headlights, as well as thinking about how to add plexiglass surround for a ~cab, but I don't think a radio is in the works. Maybe that will be rev 2 in a couple years. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Well, here is the 2 x 4 replacement frame.
I added some light protectors as well.
