so This is the first spring ive had my property. We purchesed last aug.

So now we are finding all the low spots that hold water. And i have a tractor with various impliments to both eliminate low spots, and or cut proper drainage.

but    hears what ive found. its to wet to fix the wet spots, but by the time they dry out... theres no need to fix them .....ARG!

there is a particularly shallow swail that holds water and creats a large wet area right in the middle of the area we use often. Its CRYING To be french drained the entire lenght to the back of the property were it drops off.... but i cant dig in the area now as i would just make one HUGE mud hole

oh well... thats my morning gripe....

That is the "reasoning" why I took so many years to get a real driveway. Jay

First year can be the roughest trying to understand the land, but w/in year you shall get the upper hand.

I picked up a couple bundles of little red flags on wire sticks at a home improvement place. They are cheap. I use them for all kinds of things. Mark out the wet areas now and then tackle them when they are dry.

Every summer when it is finally dry I am always trying to get about 10 drainage/trail fixes squeezed in...cause there is a limited opportunity to take care of them. Last summer I had spots that never dried out enough.

Make a list and wait til it's dry...that's all you can do!

That was good advice about marking the area with flags. 1 X 2's or grade stakes would work, too. Also, a few pictures can help to remember what the problem looked like.

So what's your 4x4 for, if it ain't for playing in the mud? Get your camera and get out there man. Tell us how your amazed that your tractor just plowed right through that wet/muddy spot. Then you can tell us how your powerwasher just cleaned it right up. And how your wife is amazed at all the work your little boy toy accomplished.:D :D

well it is, but it only gets you MORE stuck than you would be with out it :D (after all you only managed to get twice as far in because you HAD the 4x4)
