Hello LaDonna. You'll proabably have to clean the carbroator. It's not getting gas. Or you could have a fuel pump problem, if it has a fuel pump. Make sure that you are getting gas to the carb, by disconectiong the gas line at the carb. Be sure to catch the gas in a can or something, so as not to start a fire. Turn it over. If no gas look for bad fuel, pump, pluged gas line, pluged gas filter, or sediment bowl. If you got gas, at the carb in let, then your carb needs to be cleaned.

no fuel pump when it left the factory.. it's a gravity feed system.

gas from the gas line to the carb doesn't mean gas is getting thru the carb.. removing the drain from the bottom of the carb so you can see if gas is flowing thru the float needle , etc. that's a better determination

for the heck of it check spark color.. weak sparks need rich fuel mixes.. your hand on the carb is alot of choke.

could also have a vacume leak at the carb to manifold, manifold to block, carb halves or throttle packing.... could be a cracked manifold..e tc.

Have you checked the compression? I lost the compression on my '39 9N with the same results.
