Backhoe Can''t get the pin out to return mechanical thumb to original position.

I used my BH65 16" Backhoe bucket and BH1976 thumb to dig and remove a rock. Now I cannot get the holding pin to budge; it feels like its welded to the dipperstick. Any tips? (I have a call in to the dealer, but its a busy time in Northern Minnesota).

+1, big friggen hammer gets that stuff moving everytime.

I have a BH65 too, but the factory thumb (not sure if that's what you have). The pin was stuck when I first got it and using a big hammer and a properly sized punch / pin and WD-40 I got it out. Hit both sides with penetrating oil and let it sit, if you can rotate it do that. I also discovered that you can pry on the handle too. I now rub my pin with grease every time I grease the hoe (10 hrs or so) and that keeps it free.

Worked great. I got a 4lb sledge (always good to have) and a punch (thanks for mentioning the punch, wouldn't have worked without it). Good to go. Dianne
