Mowing Can't set Mower Adjustment Dial to 'TOP'

I've been getting by, but now that mowing season is over I want to get this fixed. I can not set the dial to Top, which can be irritating if I'm trying to do something else w/o taking off the mowing deck.

I had read a thread long ago about how to fix this (I remember the poster had tried to take off the dial and adjust it that way, but that wasn't the fix). I can not find it for the life of me. How do I go about fixing this?

Dumb question: You're bringing the deck up as high as you can with the lever, correct?

There is a linkage adjustment between the left rear tire and frame. It is a threaded rod with nut stop/lock.

Lower the deck, then loosen the nut stop. Adjust linkage so that the knob can be set to "Top" when the deck is fully raised.

This will take a couple raisin's and lowerin's, but through trial and error shouldn't take very long.

There is and exact measurement somewhere in the manual, but I beleive removal of the wheel would be required to gain access to this area.

I tried the linkage adjustment on my 2350 without success so I ended up just taking the adjustment "cam" off and grinding about 1/16" off of the top lobe. It was about a 20 minute job including removing the deck. Take the deck off and you get to it from underneath.

I had the same problem and I resolved it by just manually lifting one edge of the MMM and then turned the knob to TOP. I have since tightened the front mounting bracket by one turn because it seems that something went out of adjustment and the deck was dropping off the rear bracket occasionally. Since I have done this, I no longer have any problems getting the knob to the TOP position. I think that if you were to re level the deck, and then make all the final adjustments per the operator's manual, you will find that it will give you a better cut, and the other issues will also be resolved. Grinding the cam would be the last thing to do after all other avenues have been tried. As with any machine, after use, they need to be readjusted back to factory specs to perform like new. Dusty
