Capacity of Ford 1700 3 point

How much weight can I carry on the back end / 3 point on my 1700 4wd? I would like to get a small backhoe attachment but I'm concerned about the weight.

I had put a 1200 pound back hoe on my old 1700 a couple of times. The three point hitch could lift it no problem, but the front end came off the ground. I had to put about 300 lbs in the loader bucket to keep it down. I upgraded to the 1920 and no more problem. Ford did sell a hoe for it my guess is it weighs about 800 lbs. good luck.

I have a line on a lw-6 and it looks to be right at 1000lbs. Oh well... The 1700 was an upgrade, 2wd 1600 to 4wd 1700. Thanks!

I have a Woods BH750. It came with a sub frame that fits Ford 1320,1520,1720, and 1920.
I'd say a BH650 or 750 would work on your tractor if you could find a used one. or maybe the new 6500,7500 will work.
I don't know what my 750 weighs as its not listed in the owners manual but I'd guess around 900-1000 lbs.

I would think the LW-6 would be ok. Could always hook it up to tractor before you buy. Does the hoe have a PTO pump.

I have had over a ton on my 1710 3 pt. A little light in the front end even with the loader but it lifted no problem. I did get a heavier top link than came with it though. Just my nervousness.

No pump right now but I plan on using one on what ever I wind up with. It does have a hydraulic tank. I don't have my loader on the 1700 yet. I was planning on building a subframe / rear loader mount to spread the load over the rear axle, engine mount and normal rear loader bolts. Would like to do a trial hook up but the BH is a few hours away and I can either put the tractor or the BH in the trailer.
