Caps for the bucket curl cylinder .

I've developed a small leak in one of my bucket cylinders . It's a 513 loader . What size are the caps I need to use to seal of the system while the cylinder is off the loader ?

I've had my bucket curl cylinder off twice. Once to change the o-rings and then once to replace with a new cylinder(warrantee). I didn't use caps. I put a plastic bag with a rubber band around it to keep dust out. Of coarse I wasn't using the tractor while I was doing this. If you are going to have your hydraulics active during the time you have it off then I would cap them.

Is your cylinder still under warantee? Where is the leak coming from on the cylinder?

Steve , not according to the dealer . But then things do break . So. I'll be out about $150.00 or so for the rebiuld . It's leaking a few drips per minute from the end closest to the loader . It leaks during curl . Most likely something got past the wiper seal and into the O ring packing . John

If it is out of warranty, look for a independent cylinder repair shop. Usually they do repairs just as well, in half the time and money. Unlike the dealer, that is all they do, so they know all the tricks of getting it done faster and usually better. They will have all the necessary seals to do the repair and the replacements might be of better quality than the OEM seals..... Just mention to them that you don't want it painted. Many paint the cylinders after they are repaired as part of the service... Junk....

Frank ,I did! Her suggested that I just come down and get a bunch of caps . I guess it was up to me to find the right ones .
Kind of took the luster of my confidence in them about the repair /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
But then ,I was talking to them sales side of the house ,not the service side . John
