Got an old 214 for $600 a few years ago. Its seen its better days but for the price, i like it. I had to replace the fuel pump on it and a few other miscelaneous parts recently. Got it all back together and it wont crank. It ran slick as a button before the fuel pump diaphram gave out. It caught on fire at the carb when i tried to fire it up.
I have adjusted the points, disassembled the carb to clean and set at the initial setting according to the manual, installed new fuel line and i cant figure it out. I have cleaned the carb out several times before and it worked fine. Did nothing different this time. Im looking to get another carb but a new one is around $260!
I just lost a deal on Ebay for a used one for 60 bucks. Guess i was too slow. Any secret sites for a better price? Best i could tell, the part # is 4705363 but the stamp was not clear. I couldnt find that part # on openengines.com but several real close.
