Some of you on larger farms probably have medium and heavy trucks with PTO-equipped options. Here's an account of a fatal accident involving equipment of that nature. Stay safe out there!

I used to work on a telephone line crew. The truck had a winch on the front that had a metal spool for rolling up cable on. That thing would fly! I think it was hydraulically driven, but it was incredibly powerful.

I can remember the crew chief telling me (when I was new) to stay away from it. As a teenager I did not intuitively recognize the danger in the thing....or anything else for that matter.

Fortunately I had a good crew cheif and partner and they trained me well in regard to the dangers all over that truck!
