Finally got tired of my quick hitch top hook hanging up on the bolt heads on my implements.
Dont know why it took me this long to do it.
Replaced them with carriage bolts. Had to file the square, under the head, down a little bit. Works so much smoother now.

When I filed the squares down I left enough that it wedged and swaged into the hole. I just tightened the nut with a ratchet and the bolts never spun.

I also used 3/4” pipe for my top pins that I bolted on. Helps take some of the slop out of the quick hitch.

I see some letters on the top of the bolts, but do they have a rating? Most carriage bolts are grade 2. Those will strip easily with an impact driver. Especially after some corrosion sets in. They are also prone to shearing.

Using water pipe as a bushing is ok, but don't try to use it as a "pin" for the same reasons as above.
