Hey everyone,
My wife's side of the family has a Case 1690 that has been sitting for the past 18 years. Her grandfather bought it and meant a lot to him. I think it was one of the first big purchases he made. Before he passed I went down to Arkansas where it was and put a new battery on it and started messing with it. I got it started and moving. It sat parked for the next 3 years after this. Since then I have tried to get it moving again but have the clutch pedal go to the floor. There are problems that I have started to list which will be below. The family wants it to be worked on and made to be used. I have a mechanical background in cars and airplanes but not tractors.
I really just want to get the clutch working again so I can move it to a their barn and start to go through it.
Clutch pedal goes to the floor and leaks mineral oil in the cab
Hydraulic rear lift randomly lifts then drops
anything rubber will also need replaced
This is just what I know of right now but thats just from the small time I spent moving it. I am heading down again soon to take a serious look at everything and make the big laundry list.
I've gotten hold of the service manuals as well but was looking for more of a broad idea of what im getting into
Thank you for any info,
Chad
