Rebuilding the lift cylinders on my Case 1830 Uniloader (I bought it new during the blizzard of '79).
Noticed that one cylinder rod retracts all the way and the other is not retracting fully; it stops about 2 inches before it should.
Pulled the cylinder off and tried cycling it by hand. The piston stops with a metallic clank like it's hitting the spacer. Thought maybe the cap bolt came loose or the spacer got stuck out of position somehow.
Dismantled the cylinder and everything looks normal. Spacer was loose in the cylinder.
I can not figure out what is causing the rod to not retract all the way.
