I'm stumped. This is a borrowed unit that died on my property, 1990 model year.
Two weeks ago, when starting it up, the start button wire cooked itself bare. This had already been rewired once before, and both were outside the harness. Only one of the two cooked, so I suspect it shorted from wear or damage.
Rewired that, but still can't seem to get more than a half crank. Replaced starter and am jumpering from a new g31 battery, but same problem persists.
Original battery was 10 years old and the unit needs a partial disassembley to swap out, which will be attempted this weekend... the owner thinks the jumper cables being longer than the leads might he the problem
Any other ideas?
