I just bought a case BH for my kubota, it has the four stick control instead of the two. Anyone converted or know what all I would need to convert to 2 stick.
Here is a photo of the joy conversion. This is from an old pic so the valves control levers were not the main focus. If you zoom to the top area, you will see how it was done.
The main principle; a device shaped like a two pronged fork. This rotates along the handle of the fork, left to right. Then between the forks is a square block, it rotates front to back.
The spacing of the vavles dictates the porpotions of the fork and block.
I have run 4 stick, 2 stick and case 3 stick and 1 foot pedal, and I have found the 4 stick to be the best. You can feel the valves opeening and closing better with the 4 stick so my question is why go to all the trouble and expense to change to 2?
Go look at a wobble stick back hoe conrol and you can get an idea on how they use ball ended rod end to run them. Ive helped on a few conversions and its pretty simple. You may have to change the hoses around to get the proper control per stick. Nat some folks run different controls better. My 4 stick on my old Ford is set up bucket stick boom and swing like a 4 stick Case or 3 stick. Instead of the Ford stick, boom bucket swing as original. On an older case i perfer 3 sticks to the 2 sticks. Just preferances I recon. My old Ford gives me a fit with my fingers after a long day of digging. On a small backhoe like that they levers are probably so close to gether its hard to do 2 funtions at once. You know how the old Fords have the big tr or l shped handles I ran on old ARPS 3 point four stick hoe for a friend once. on a 100 foot ditch I lost count how many times I got my finger between the controls lol .
Thanks all , for your input. Just so happen I went by the kubota dealer today and he had one backhoe unit on the lot. It's going to be pretty easy to convert now. As for way just preference I guess. I have used the two sticks a lot more and just happen to like the setup.
