Case 430 Purchase

I am going to look at a Case 430 this afternoon (Diesel). What are your thoughts is this a good model?

Will mostly use for running my brush cutter and a disk and harrow. The present owner is asking $2000 for it with great tires needing a few stated repairs such as water pump and power steering seals which he has those parts. All the sheet metal is there with the exception of the battery compartment cover which is see missing on most of the case tractors that I have seen pictures of are missing also.

Is it a Case-O-Matic model..?? ie: Torque converter instad of a clutch. Those models scan be pricey to repair in the drivetrain. If it has a clutch, decent old tractors. A lot would depend on the hours, a diesel can be more expensive to repair if it's got a good many hours on it.

Well, I bought it. Got it for $1800.00. Put a battery in and it started up after a few revolutions even after siting for two years. Looking for a seat frame assembly as mine is rusted plum through. Will post pictures soon, gotta mother project finishing this week before I can spend some time on the tractor.

Looks like it has either the dual range, or triple range transmission. Ought to find a suitable speed for about any job with that..!!
