I have a case 444 and lost fuel pressure. I replaced the pump but can't get it to prime and pump. Is there a trick to priming a gas fuel pump on a Kolher 14 hp engine in a old case 444?
No trick to it. Is the pumps lever riding on the cam properly?
Can you get fuel through the line to the pump? Some gas tanks have a screen filter inside the tank, sometimes attached to the petcock.
The K321 engine has a mechanical pump that shouldn't need priming. I've rebuilt a couple of these motors including replacing pumps and have never had to prime one.
I'd check fuel lines for a good flow and also for dry rot/cracks.
I recently replaced the fuel lines and there is no petcock. when I dip the fuel line lower than the tank no fuel comes out so tomorrow I will disassemble everything and check for a pinch or blockage. Thank you
