I am rebuilding a 1966 Case 530 CK backhoe with the base tractor being a 530. The engine turns over by hand just fine, but I want to rear it down to clean and inspect it to see what needs repaired/replaced. I am having trouble getting the head to come off. I have removed the manifolds, rocker arm assembly, head bolts, and bolts from the front engine cover. I am lifting up on the head with my hydraulic lift and tapping on the head but it isn't budging. Do I need to completely remove the front engine cover?
I am also having trouble getting the nut on the crankshaft pulley to come loose. Is the pulley nut right or left hand thread?
Thanks for any help.
