Parked my 580K for the winter last year.

Everything worked great before we parked it.

Fired it up this spring & hydraulics were super slow.

Everything would hardly move/no power.

Motor is run'n strong.

Changed hydraulic fluid and all filters.

No change.

Stumbled upon this forum & need some help/advise.

Please help !!

Hi. Welcome neighbor.

Have you bled the air from the system?

We are 'Rookies' here & we think we did.

Could you tell me the proper way to bleed ??

Most systems will bleed themselves as you operate the cylinders. I would warm it up good then operate all the cylinders to see if they purge and clean themselves out.

How dirty was the old oil? I bought a used machine the guy never changed the hyd. fluid. It was dirty enough it blocked flow through the control valve. I had to flush the system twice and tear the control valve down and clean it out to get the FEL to function properly. It would work for awhile then go very slow.

Talking to the guy that actually owns the hoe, he does know he did not bleed the system.

Does anyone know how to do this ???

One way is to loose the hose fittings at the cylinders and operate the cylinder to force the air out. Do not loosen the fittings very much and stay away from them. Operate the engine at idle. The objective is to push the air out but fluid under pressure is dangerous. Does not take much movement of the cylinder to get the air out. Retighten the fittings and operate the cylinders several times to get fluid moving thorough the system.

If all the cylinders are moving slowly there may be a restriction in the return line.

There's a screen on the pick-up I've checked them over the yrs. because the manual said to but I've never seen any indication of it being plugged or restricted but maybe yours is. I've never had to bleed a hydraulic system just cycle the cylinders a few times.

Case cylinders and valves do not need to be bled. What happens whenyou have a cylinder ar full extension (or retraction) and continue to actuate the control lever? Do you get a hissing noise? does it drag down the rpm? Kill the engine? When everything is "right" and all warmed up, you will hear the Power-Beyond valve open and it will make a hissing noise and drag down the engine. On a cold system it should kill the engine. I would be looking at the Power-Beyond valve being stuck. It's also the bypass valve. Do you have a manual for it? I have a digital but would need to check the size to see if it's able to email.

Manual is 344 mb.
