Case 580c shuttle issues?

I have a 78 case 580c 3000 hrs, my backhoe loader was working fine then a couple days ago I was driving it home from the neighbors and without warning it just quit putting power to the wheels I cchecked wire conceptions fluid levels I towed it home raised it up tried forward & reverse. The wheels try to spin but only shudder a bit in all 4 gears. Pulled the pan off the tranny there was a ballbearing in it apx .300 dia.any suggestions

I am a little late to offer suggestions. I'd have to look at my books to see where in the tranny all the ball bearings are.
So I guess right now I will ask you. Did you get it fixed? And if so, what broke?
