Howdy all.............. I have a 580ck backhoe (Diesel) and it is leaking trans oil from around the starter housing ...... I was thinking I read somewhere it might be a wrong starter nose if the starter was ever replaced with the wrong one. Any suggestions would be welcome thanks Steve

Not really an attachment question...

But the starter engages the flywheel on the engine, not anything on the transmission. So it should have nothing to do with the hydraulics or transmission.

If it was a CUT I'd say the input shaft on your transmission was leaking. You need to split the tractor to fix that. Industrial tractors often have a torque converter & may have separate transmission & hydraulic fluid sumps. At any rate I'd imagine it's still the tranny input shaft leaking. Not sure if you split an industrial machine like the smaller ones, but it's likely to be similar & a lot of work.
