Case 595 2WD
Have case 595 tractor and out of the blue, the brakes will self apply and lug the tractor down. Believe them to be wet brake operation and I have not had experience with that type. After the tractor sits for awhile, they release but will rapply when tractor is driven 50 yards or so. I use a transmission/hydraulic oil that states that is for wet brake operation. HELP

Thanks for the info. I have briefly checked it out and cable seems to be retracting when lever is released. Have to disassemble to tell more.Problem first ocurred while bushhoging up hill and was alternating left/right brake to maintain traction. the brakes remained on and almost stopped the tractor. The brake pedals stay at top position and are firm when it occurs. It will happen now without pushing pedals down first.

Check the plastic reservoir located on top of the master cylinders it is the supply for the brakes it is continually filled via a line from the oil cooler
it has a large 1/2 in.hose off the top to return the oil to tran. case. If this hose gets kinked or pinched it will apply the brakes.
