Good day all, first time posting...long time reader.
I bought a 1964 case d530ck w/ model 32 loader and backhoe.Besides having to rebuild a couple of hydraulic seals, a new serpentine belt..the things worked like a charm! Well today it started having some issue and I'd like to fix them before something costs me more down the road.
Started earlier when it stalled on me when pushing some logs into the woods. And I figured it was due to a bucket load vs rpm situation. So I just hopped off for a bit and got back on a little later and it started up. Cool no problem. Drove it and worked it for about an hour then it sounded like it was knocking at higher rpms. I turned it off...left it to cool off. Went to restart..and it sounded to me like it was starving for fuel, cause it was turning over..but just barely started and wouldn't stay running. I've noticed now that the injection pump appears to be leaking by the throttle linkage. What causes this? How to remedy it? And would this be a reason it sounded like it had high rpm knock before it last stalled?
Also the starter seems like it doesn't want to engage at times now too. Key switch is broke so i popped it out and just jump the switch to start it..but now..it seems like I have to let it cool off before it'll wanna work again..and it also sounds like chatter now when trying to send it voltage. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks a lot! I have a service manual, and can take pictures as needed.
